Games Like Angry Birds in 2026: Physics Demolition Games You Can Still Download

Looking for games like Angry Birds in 2026? You can still get that feeling on a phone, but not always from the game you remember. Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Friends are live on both iPhone and Android. Angry Birds Reloaded on Apple Arcade is where Rovio says Angry Birds Space now lives. The original 2009 game left Google Play in February 2023 and survives on iPhone only as Red's First Flight.
Beyond Rovio, our picks are Crush the Castle: Siege Master, Smash Hit, Bad Piggies, World of Goo 2 and Teardown on PC. One entry, Clatter Smash, is our own game. We checked every game here against its store listing on October 8, 2026.
Why the classic Angry Birds games are hard to find
If you search for the first Angry Birds today, the result can be confusing. The game you first played has been pulled, rebuilt and renamed more than once.
According to Wikipedia's history of the original game, several Angry Birds titles, the original among them, were removed from the App Store and Google Play during 2019 without warning. Rovio brought the first game back on March 31, 2022 as a new version called Rovio Classics: Angry Birds.
That return did not last on Android. 9to5Google reported on February 22, 2023 that Rovio would unlist Rovio Classics: Angry Birds from Google Play on February 23. Rovio's stated reason was "the game's impact on our wider games portfolio." The same report says the game would remain playable on devices where it was already downloaded. On the App Store it was renamed Red's First Flight.
Red's First Flight is still listed on the App Store as a paid app. Its listing calls it a faithful remake of the original, with all 8 original episodes. The last update we found on that listing is dated June 2023.
So the short version: if you already own the old game, it may still run on your phone. If you do not, the official routes are the newer Rovio games below.
Official Angry Birds games you can still download
Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Friends
These are the two Rovio games most people mean when they ask for Angry Birds alternatives that still feel official. Both are made by Rovio, both are free with in-app purchases, and both are on the App Store and Google Play. Each listing had an update in the past month when we checked.
Angry Birds 2 is the bigger, busier one. You choose which bird goes in the slingshot, and many levels come in multiple stages with Boss Pigs to watch out for. It suits you if you want the classic loop with more variety and daily challenges.
Angry Birds Friends is the closer match to 2009. Its App Store description now pitches it as the place to play the original Angry Birds, with the classic slingshot physics and tower-toppling left intact. If your search for slingshot physics games for iPhone is really a search for the first game, start here. It is free, while Red's First Flight is paid.
If you want something calmer, Angry Birds Journey is Rovio's relaxed take, with no pressure to hurry through its puzzles.
Angry Birds Reloaded on Apple Arcade
Rovio launched Angry Birds Reloaded on Apple Arcade on July 16, 2021, with seven episodes at launch. You can start on an iPhone and continue a saved game on Apple TV or Mac. It needs an Apple Arcade subscription and has no Android version.
The useful detail for fans of the planet levels sits in its App Store description: it says Angry Birds Space found its reloaded home here. So the honest Angry Birds Space alternative on Apple devices is Reloaded itself, not a lookalike.
Siege and smash games with the same pull
Crush the Castle: Siege Master
Swap the birds for a trebuchet and you get the closest relative outside Rovio. Crush the Castle: Siege Master is from Armor Games and is free on both the App Store and Google Play. You tap once to swing the trebuchet and again to release, then watch a castle come apart.
The series has history here. In 2011, Pocket Gamer described the original Crush the Castle as a game that "plays a lot like Angry Birds but came before it." That line is about the original Crush the Castle, a separate and older app. Siege Master is the newer, free follow-up with the same idea: pick your shot, hit the weak joint, enjoy the collapse.
If what you loved was reading a structure and finding the one block that brings it all down, Siege Master is the most direct swap on this list.
Smash Hit
Smash Hit, from the studio Mediocre, drops the aiming puzzle and keeps the breaking. You move forward through a strange dimension and smash the glass obstacles in your path, in time with the music. Its App Store listing promises realistic glass-breaking in every stage, and the music shifts as each stage changes.
It is free on both stores, and it is a good fit among physics destruction games for Android and iPhone if you liked the crash more than the planning. Focus and timing matter more than angles, and there are no birds or pigs to keep track of.
Clatter Smash: our game, built around gravity
Full disclosure: Clatter Smash is our game, made by Codixus Games. It is a physics demolition game where you aim, launch a ball and try to take the whole stack off the deck. Each stage is a shape with one weak place, such as a wall, an arch, a vault or a bridge, and your job is to find it.
The twist is gravity. Clatter Smash has 75 levels across five worlds, and each world runs its own real surface gravity: Earth 9.81, Moon 1.62, Mars 3.72, Saturn 10.44 and Jupiter 24.79 m/s squared. That works out to 15 levels per world, and the same shot rarely works twice.
Each world changes how you think. On the Moon, towers stay up long after they should. Mars pulls at just over a third of home, so flat shots carry. Saturn is barely past Earth, yet enough to make a clean shot land short. Jupiter is about two and a half times Earth, and everything drops hard.
The stacks mix nine materials, including glass, ice, rubber, TNT and stone, and each one slides or bounces in its own way. You get a steel ball in every stage and a heavy ball in 60 of the 75. There is no countdown and no account before your first shot.
You can try it before installing: the playable bay on our home page runs in your browser, and the five-world picker lists every gravity value.
One honest difference for Space fans: our game has no small planets pulling the ball off a straight line. It uses one even pull per world, so the Moon feels floaty everywhere and Jupiter feels heavy everywhere.
When you would rather build than break
Some players enjoy the physics more than the destruction. For them, the best follow-ups are games where you put things together and then watch whether they hold.
Bad Piggies is Rovio's own answer, told from the pigs' side. You build makeshift contraptions from a big collection of parts, then pilot the pigs to the goal without blowing the vehicle to pieces. It is free on both the App Store and Google Play. The humor is pure Angry Birds, and failed builds are half the fun.
World of Goo 2 comes from 2D BOY and Tomorrow Corporation. You link Goo Balls into bridges, towers and other wobbly structures, then reshape the land around them. It asks the same question Angry Birds does, which is where a structure is weakest, but from the builder's side. According to the official World of Goo 2 site, it is sold on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Steam, Android and iOS, among other stores. It is a paid game on both phone stores, not free to play.
If you like these, you probably care more about the puzzle than the explosion. That is a useful thing to know when you pick your next game.
Games like Angry Birds on Steam: Teardown
A search for games like Angry Birds on Steam usually means you want that physics fun on a PC. Our pick is Teardown.
According to its Steam store page, Teardown is developed and published by Tuxedo Labs, came out on April 21, 2022, and runs on Windows. The page sums it up as planning and executing the perfect heist in a fully destructible world, and its feature list leads with fully destructible voxel environments.
That is the link to Angry Birds. The whole environment is built from voxels, small blocks that can be broken, and the puzzle is working out what to knock down and in what order. It is slower and more open than flinging birds, and you plan a route through a whole map instead of lining up one shot. Think of it as the grown-up, desktop end of physics demolition games.
If you want something gentler on PC, World of Goo 2 is on Steam too, and its build-then-test loop feels closer to the phone games above. Between the two, you can cover both the breaking and the building side on a desktop.
How to pick your next one
There is no single best replacement, because people miss different parts of Angry Birds. Start from what you actually liked:
- The original 2009 feel: Angry Birds Friends, or Red's First Flight on iPhone if you want the remake.
- Angry Birds Space: Angry Birds Reloaded on Apple Arcade.
- A different weapon, same castle-crushing: Crush the Castle: Siege Master.
- Pure breaking, no aiming puzzle: Smash Hit.
- Gravity as the puzzle: Clatter Smash, our own game.
- Building instead of breaking: Bad Piggies or World of Goo 2.
- A big PC game: Teardown.
All of the phone picks were checked against their store listings on October 8, 2026. Most of the free games here offer optional in-app purchases, while Red's First Flight and World of Goo 2 cost money up front and Reloaded needs Apple Arcade. Listings change, so check the store page before you pay for anything.
We write more about physics puzzles, how gravity changes a shot and the games around them on the Clatter Smash blog.
FAQ
Can you still download the original Angry Birds?
Not on Android. Rovio Classics: Angry Birds left Google Play on February 23, 2023, though Rovio said copies already installed would stay playable. On the App Store, the remake Red's First Flight is still listed as a paid app. If you want the classic style for free, Angry Birds Friends is the closest option on both stores.
Where did Angry Birds Space go?
Rovio's App Store description for Angry Birds Reloaded says Angry Birds Space found its home there, so Apple Arcade is the place to look. On Android there is no official route. A gravity-led physics game such as Clatter Smash, which is our own game, is one way to get a similar feel.
What is the best free game like Angry Birds on Android?
Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Friends are the official picks, and both are free with in-app purchases. Crush the Castle: Siege Master is free if you want a trebuchet instead of birds. Clatter Smash, our game, is free to play with optional in-app purchases and builds its puzzles around gravity.
Is there a game like Angry Birds on Steam?
Teardown from Tuxedo Labs is the strongest pick for breaking things on PC, with fully destructible voxel environments. If you prefer building, World of Goo 2 is on Steam as well.
Is Clatter Smash a slingshot game?
No. You aim and launch a ball at a stack rather than pulling back a slingshot. Its five worlds each use real surface gravity, from the Moon to Jupiter, and there is no countdown.
